POLYTONE® PA SERIES POLYAMIDE RESINS: NON REACTIVE/CO-SOLVENT/ALCOHOL SOLUBLE

POLYONE® PA Series Non Reactive Polyamide Resins are designed for providing premium performance. These are thermoplastic polyamide resins and formulated to exhibit good solvent compatibility, gel resistance, pigment wetting.

These are particularly soluble for formulating flexo and rotogravure printing inks providing adhesion, gloss and water resistance

Solubility POLYTONE PA 302/303 is soluble In n-Butanol, n–Propanol, Cellosolve and mixtures of these with aromatic hydrocarbons e.g. Toluene and Xylene. This resin is partially soluble in iso-propanol and insoluble in ethanol ,

 

aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. . Under certain conditions the solutions forms reversible gels on standing. In order to achieve complete solubility in alcohol solutions , sometimes it is necessary to add small

percentage of water or aromatic hydrocarbon solvent . For optimum solubility blends of alcohols and hydrocarbon solvents are required.

Industry

POLYTONE® PA 302/303  is a polymeric fatty acid based co-solvent grade non reactive  polyamide resin in solid form suitable for  flexographic and gravure printing inks. This resin provides excellent resistance to grease and  water, and good glossy sharp prints. It has excellent adhesion to treated polyethylene and other plastics. Polytone PA 302/303 has good flexibility and very good solvent release properties.

Solubility POLYTONE PA 351 shows excellent solubility in a variety of solvents that do not attack rubber stereos .

 

Under certain conditions the solutions forms reversible gels on standing and to avoid this, it is recommended

to add small percentage of water or higher alcohols or aromatic hydrocarbon solvent. POLYTONE® PA 351 has infinite solubility in ethanol and higher alcohols. It is soluble in methanol at higher concentrations – 40% and above

Application/Industry POLYTONE® PA 351 is an alcohol soluble non reactive polyamide resin in solid form suitable for  flexographic  printing inks. This resin exhibits good anti-blocking characteristics and finds use in specialized flexographic inks and release lacquers. Inks prepared from this resin have good adhesion to a variety of substrates, excellent solvent release properties, low odour and good nitrocellulose compatibility.

STORAGE & HANDELING

Available in 20/25Kg HDPE Line KRAFT Paper Bags with Anti Static Liner or 20/25Kg HDPE Bags.Choice of ISPM 15 Standard Heat Treated/Fumigated Pallets or Plastic Pallets.

Can be stored up to 12 months at temperatures below 35 °C.
